SUMMARY STATEMENT OR LEGAL NOTICE LANGUAGE:
Discussion of proposed of amendments to Whatcom County Code (WCC) 20.68.060 Heavy Impact Industrial District (HII) and WCC 20.97 Definitions. The proposed amendments would allow Stationary Thermal Power Plants with generating capacity of less than 350,000 kilowatts and Floating Thermal Power Plants with generating capacity of less than 100,000 kilowatts as a “Permitted” use within the HII Zoning District. The proposed amendments to WCC 20.97, Definitions, would add four new definitions: Generating Capacity, Minimum Auxiliary Load, Maximum Generator Nameplate Capacity, and Nameplate Capacity.
