SUMMARY STATEMENT OR LEGAL NOTICE LANGUAGE:
Staff requests review and discussion of the draft conservation easement to be enacted for Phase 1 of the Stewart Mountain Community Forest. Council approved Ordinance 2022-047 authorizing $1,500,000 in Conservation Futures Funds to support acquisition of Phase 1 of the Stewart Mountain Community Forest and secure a conservation easement on the acreage. Whatcom Land Trust will purchase the property using these funds and will grant a conservation easement to Whatcom County at the time of property acquisition. The draft easement represents recommended language by the administration. Staff would like to review and discuss the easement draft with Council
