Request confirmation of the County Executive’s appointment of Dr. Aldo Fusaro as Temporary Interim Medical Examiner effective September 11, 2024

SUMMARY STATEMENT OR LEGAL NOTICE LANGUAGE:
Dr. Fusaro has extensive experience as a forensic pathologist. Since 2017, Dr. Fusaro has served the State of Montana as Deputy Medical Examiner where he is presently employed. He was Associate Medical Examiner for King County from 2005 to 2017 and Deputy Medical Examiner for Cook County in Chicago from 1997-2005.
Dr. Fusaro received his D.O. from Des Moines University and completed a four-year residency in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology followed by a one year fellowship in Forensic Pathology, both in Chicago. He has taught at the University of Washington School of Medicine and Rush University.
Dr. Fusaro is currently licensed to practice in the States of Montana and Washington. He is a respected and active member of the Medical Examiner community, serving on associations, committees, and boards and publishing and presenting on numerous occasions.
Under this interim appointment, Dr. Fusaro would continue to concurrently serve as Deputy Medical Examiner for the Montana State Medical Examiner’s Office. He would split his time between Montana and Whatcom County. During the weeks when Dr. Fusaro is out of state, autopsies will be performed by local pathologists.
