SUMMARY STATEMENT OR LEGAL NOTICE LANGUAGE:
Since the February 2025 briefing to County Council, the Executive’s Office, Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office, and Superior Court/Juvenile Detention have been working on a solution for jail healthcare. The current system is fragmented and administered through 16 separate contracts for services. The County conducted a Request for Proposals process and are in negotiations with Community Healthcare Partners, Inc. This presentation is to update Council on the process and introduce Community Healthcare Partners, Inc. for a presentation. Action is not requested. The Executive’s Office, Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office, and Superior Court/Juvenile Detention anticipate requesting action from Council to enter into a contract on October 7, 2025.
