Councilmembers are invited to attend a webinar regarding implementation of SSB 5353 (2023) that eliminates the “opt-in” deadline for the Voluntary Stewardship Program (VSP)

SUMMARY STATEMENT OR LEGAL NOTICE LANGUAGE:
The Washington State Conservation Commission will host a meeting regarding the implementation of SSB 5353 (2023) that eliminates the “opt-in” deadline for the Voluntary Stewardship Program (VSP). With the deadline eliminated, all counties that didn’t “opt-in” are again eligible to participate in the VSP. The counties not enrolled in VSP include Clallam, Clark, Jefferson, Island, King, Kitsap, Klickitat, Pierce, Skamania, Snohomish, Wahkiakum, and Whatcom.
The meeting will be held as a webinar on Thursday, 6/15/2023, at 9 AM. It is designed to walk counties through the process of opting into VSP. County Commissioners and other county staff potentially involved in the process should plan to attend this meeting. All other VSP stakeholders and participants are also welcome to attend.
If you are unable to attend the meeting but would still like to view it, it will be recorded and made available at a later date.
