BODY
SUMMARY STATEMENT OR LEGAL NOTICE LANGUAGE:
The Working Families Tax Credit program was passed in 2021 and goes live in 2023. The program provides up to a $1,200 refund to eligible low-to-moderate income working individuals and families in Washington. Eligibility requirements include, among others, eligibility to claim the federal Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) and residency in the state. Unlike the federal EITC program, individuals with a valid Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN) are also eligible to apply. It is anticipated that around 400,000 individuals will be eligible for the credit.
